A sense of adventure

Last semester I was assigned to do 100 sketches in my sketchbook. The sketch above was maybe the sixth or seventh sketch of an elephant doing different tasks. It had a good response from people. So I thought I would paint it. I had some helpful feedback from some excellent artists during the process (Thanks Rani Bean and Heather Michelle Owens). Enjoy!

    This is great. I like the sense of anticipation, and it gets my imagination going about the circus (or military mission?) he'll be dropping into below.
